  Tours Available

  Tour Size: 6 - 15

  Tour Time 7:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.

  To Schedule a tour you must call the center a week ahead of tour.

  (Other times or special circumstances must be approved by the center director)

 

The following tours are provided at the Family History Center.

  1. Walk through of center

  2. A hands-on computer experience #

  3. A combination of walk through and hands-on computer experience#

  # Advanced Planning by the leader is necessary.

  1. Contact the Family History Center to schedule your tour at 208-232-9262

  2. Please have the leader or, the Family History Consultant for the tour group come into the center at least a week ahead of the tour and pick up copies of "How Do I start My Family History" a free brochure.

  3. Please give each prospective visitor a chance to fill out the pedigree chart to bring with them to the center for their visit.

  4. Please have the tour group leader contact a family history consultant for the ward and, ask them to help prepare the group for the visit and accompany the group to the center.

  5. This will help to insure a positive experience for the visitor while using our computers.

  What does each tour include?

 

   Walk Through

  • Tour Group is given a walk through and shown what the center has to help facilitate family history research

  • This tour takes 15 to 20 minutes.

   Hands-on computer experience #(Advanced planning by the leader is Necessary)

  • Each participant will enter family information into a computer file using Personal Ancestral File software (Version 5.2.18) You will take home a floppy disk of your family information. (Leaders please make sure each participant brings a four generation Pedigree Chart (How Do I Start My Family History) and/or a Family Group Sheet with them when they come to the center for the tour.)

   Combination of Walk Through and Hands-on computer experience

  • This is combination of a walk through and a hands on experience.

   Cub Scout or Achievement Day Group

   Tour Size 6 -15

   Tours can be scheduled for between 10 A.M. - 5 P.M.
